Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church, our churches, and our missions throughout Mexico. July was a very busy month and God’s blessings were upon us. Three people were saved during visitation. During the month, Pastor Martinez preached from the book of I John. Three people were saved during the services, and others dedicated their lives to better serve the Lord.
We are grateful for God’s protection! We were surprised by a magnitude 5.1 earthquake on the morning of July 12th at 7:42 A.M.! We did not sustain any damage here in Bocoyna, but walls and windows were cracked in towns and communities nearby. We have had more aftershocks since then but no damage.
We had another successful Youth Camp this year. We haven’t been able to have one for two years due to the pandemic. There were 65 campers in attendance plus about 30 workers, pastors, and their families. Nine churches were represented. Five people were saved, three surrendered their lives to serve the Lord in full-time service, and others consecrated their lives to the Lord. Praise God for these wonderful results.
We will begin primary, middle, and high school on the 22nd of August. We are praying for good enrollment. There are six young people that will be entering the Bible Institute in the fall.
God is blessing Brother Arturo Gonzalez in this new mission. They are having regular attendance and the people are attentive to the preaching of the Gospel. Someone has donated the land where we plan to construct a church building. The estimate for the construction is approximately $2,000 Dollars. They are currently meeting in a house that someone has loaned them. Pray with us that God will supply these funds.
Eben-Ezer Baptist Church (La Junta)
Last week they held their Vacation Bible School with 60 young people and children in attendance, and 22 of them were saved. The theme was “Children and the Bible”. Pray for Pastor Luis Carlos, Candi, and their children. They recently moved to La Junta, about an hour and a half drive from Bocoyna.
Two adults were saved during the month of July. Pray for Brother Adriel, Jackie, and their children as they attend to this mission, that souls will be saved, and especially for their protection as crime is very strong in this area.
We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name. The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for the faithfulness of the members of the GVBC and our missions, and that souls will be saved.
- Pray that God will help us solve the permitting issue we are currently having with our water well.
- Pray that God would send more labourers into his harvest.
- Pray for our mission conference being held on September 25th. Our Missionary Brother Bonifacio Gonzalez from Obregon, Sonora will be the special speaker. His health is better and he still continues with his treatments.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico

that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
