April 2022

Published by The Kahlers on

We are grateful for your prayers and offerings for the month of April. God has blessed the work here at the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico in many ways this month.

Easter

Here in Mexico, the Easter holiday usually lasts two weeks which affects the church attendance and all our activities as people travel and celebrate with their families. This month two people were saved and one baptized. We observed the Lord’s supper on the 24th.

New Church Organized

The Ebenezer Baptist Mission in La Junta, Chihuahua was organized on April 3rd. This is the fourth mission that the Grand Vision Baptist Church has organized. The service was a great blessing. There are three more missions that we hope will make the decision soon to organize. A third-year student, Brother Arturo Gonzalez, will be graduating on May 25th and he will be going to the community of Nahueachi, Municipality of Guachochi, in the state of Chihuahua, to start a work with the Tarahumaras Indians. Please pray for him as he begins this new work.

Missionaries to Japan

We are happy to report that Missionaries Carlos and Belem Madrigal have arrived in Japan and are now enrolled in a language school. Pray for them.

A Special Prayer Need

Mexico is suffering from a terrible drought. The pueblo of Bocoyna, app. 1,000 population, and communities around us have been without water for several months. Here at the complex, 26 years ago God worked a miracle and gave us a 600-foot-deep water well. Up until now, we have had all the water we need. Pastor Martinez wanted to help the people in Bocoyna, so they have been taking them water in large tanks. The rainy season usually begins the middle of June. Pray that it will come earlier this year.

Prayer Requests

We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name. The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Continue to pray for Missionary Bonifacio and for his treatments.
  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the GVBC, our churches, and our missions.
  • Pray for preparations for Youth Camp to be held in July.
  • Pray for the Bible Institute students that will be graduating on May 25th.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
