March 2019

Published by The Kahlers on

We praise the Lord for His faithfulness during the month of March, for answered prayer, for our protection and for supplying for our needs. During this month in the Grand Vision Baptist Church, seven people were saved, ten people were baptized, and two girls surrendered their life to full-time service. Praise the Lord!

Brother Mario reports the following:

“Things are moving forward in the construction of the church building. We are making the adobes and the foundations are finished. The people here are excited, and they are coming to help with the construction. There were 13 first-time visitors and five people were saved during the month of March.

We are thankful that the Lord has supplied the funds to purchase the tombstones for the three people that lost their lives in the car accident last October; my wife Angelica, my daughter Abigail, and my brother in Christ and son of Pastor Martinez, Eliezer. Eliezer is buried in the cemetery in Bocoyna. Angelica and Abigail are buried in Sisoguichi, Chihuahua, about an hour drive from Panalachi.”

Two people were saved, four people were baptized, and many people consecrated their lives to serve the Lord during the month of March. Pray for the special services being held on April 24-26th. A group from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna will be visiting the communities and “ranchitos” around Natahuachi. Pray that they will be able to reach new people with the Gospel.

One lady and two children were saved in the month of March. One person will be baptized soon. They are having good attendance in the children’s classes each Sunday. Please continue to pray for this mission, that they may continue to grow spiritually.

Pray for Mrs. Olga Martinez. Her husband, Javier, went to be with the Lord last month. He suffered a heart attack. He was 59 years old. He and Olga have been faithful missionaries to the Tarahumara Indians in Guachochi, Chihuahua for more than 30 years. They are graduates of our Bible Institute. Their Mexican pastor, Brother Jesus Hernandez, will continue with the ministry. In addition, Olga has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy now in Chihuahua City. She especially needs our prayers during this difficult time.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for the students as they travel home on spring break. Pray that they will be a testimony to their family and friends.
  • Pray for Carlos and Belem Madrigal, Missionaries going to Japan. They are currently on deputation. Pray that God will provide the remaining support needed, and that God would open doors for them to enter the country.
  • Pray for the salvation of the children and youth of the church in Bocoyna and its missions.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
