January 2019

We praise the Lord for His goodness and blessings during the month of January. The members of the Grand Vision Baptist Church are being faithful in witnessing and bringing people to church. A total of five people were saved and two people made decisions for baptism during this time.

Pray for our annual February Sunday school campaign, “Febrero, Mes del Amor” (“February, Month of Love”), that souls will be saved and Christians edified. During the first three Sundays, Pastor Martinez will be preaching messages on love from the Bible; love God; love your neighbor. The last Sunday, February 24th, is the 31st anniversary of the Grand Vision Baptist Church.

Brother Mario and his family are thanking the Lord for their health, and that they are able to continue serving the Lord. Brother Mario has completed his therapy, and he is now able to walk. His son Isaias is improving and still requires monthly doctor visits. His daughter Brisa is a full-time worker in our Christian School while his daughter Anita and son Meny are helping him with the mission work. Brother Mario is thankful that the Lord has provided for the construction of the church building and is busy with the plans. They will begin construction soon.

Missionary Bonifacio and his family are praising the Lord for supplying funds for the construction of their building. Continue to pray for this missionary family who has dedicated their life to work among the Pima and Mayo tribes in Sonora, Mexico.

The mission in La Junta is growing. Their prayer request this month is that God will supply the funds to purchase a van to bring people from the communities around La Junta to attend services. They have been picking up people in their automobiles and have to make five or six trips in their car to bring them to church.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for a full-time pastor in the Rock of Ages Baptist Mission in Natahuachi.
  • Pray for the visitation of young people and children in Bocoyna, Creel, San Juanito, and Sisoguichi.
  • Pray for my health and recovery. I had another small cancer successfully removed from my face.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
