Greetings from Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua. The Lord continues to bless the work among the indigenous tribes of northwest Mexico. Your spiritual and financial support is helping bring lives to Christ.

We praise the Lord for His blessings upon the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its missions! Emphasis was placed on missions during the month of September. The theme this year was “Dilo a Todo el Mundo” (“Tell all the World”) based on Mark 16:15. Sunday morning the Sunday school classes presented songs, recitations and dramas about missions. The special speaker was Brother Carlos Madrigal. We had a total of 19 people saved in the church and its missions. Four young ladies from the mission in Natahuachi surrendered their lives to serve the Lord and will enter the Bible Institute in January. Seven made decisions to be baptized, and many promised to raise their faith promise mission offering for the coming year. The Grand Vision Baptist Church now supports ten missionaries among eight different tribes here in Mexico.

Brother Carlos Madrigal and his wife Belen graduated from our Bible Institute 16 years ago and they have worked faithfully as full-time workers in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and in our Christian Schools ever since. They surrendered their lives to go to Japan as missionaries a few months ago. They will be on deputation for about a year and a half. The Grand Vision Baptist Church will be their sending church. Pray for them that God will guide them and supply their needs.

Brother Eliezer and the Rock of Ages Baptist Mission in Natahuachi had their services in their new building. They were happy to be holding services there despite the fact it is not yet finished. Pray that God will supply tin for the roof as well as windows and doors. This was their first Missions Conference, and the people were eager to learn about giving to missions. The special speakers were Pastor Jose Martinez from the GVBC, Missionary Jesus Rodriguez to the Tarahumara in Guachochi and Missionary Carlos Madrigal, future missionary to Japan. The congregation promised to raise their monthly faith promise offering and committed to add another missionary family.

The Panalachi Baptist Mission celebrated their sixth anniversary on the 23rd and 24th along with special services on missions. Speakers were Pastor Jose Martinez of the GVBC, Brother Ramiro Sosa, of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, and Missionary Carlos Madrigal. There were many Tarahumara in attendance. One soul was saved.

Brother Eber Martinez brought 19 people from the Eben-Ezer Baptist Mission in La Junta to the Missions Conference in the Grand Vision Baptist Church Sunday morning. They are now supporting three missionaries.

Classes for the Bible Institute began on the 5th of September. There are 14 students including four new ones. We are thankful to the Lord for these that He has called to serve Him. Pray for them and their preparation.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray that God will supply materials to finish the building in the Natahuachi mission.
  • Pray that God will supply funds for church building in the Panalachi mission.
  • Pray for our protection here in Bocoyna and the surrounding communities. The crime rate is rising, and it’s becoming more dangerous every day.

We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
