Once again, we are happy to inform you of the blessings of God upon the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its ministries.

We are thankful to the Lord for permitting us to begin another school year in our Christian middle and high school. This year we have a total of 125 young people enrolled. There are a lot of new students. Eighty-five percent of the student body are of Tarahumara descent. Pray with us that the Lord will open their hearts to His Word and they will be saved. Also pray for Pastor Martinez and staff.

The following is a letter of thanks from Missionary Bonifacio Gonzalez and his family:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you so much for your prayers and special offerings for my operation and medical attention. The operation was a success, and I am now walking with crutches. I will be under doctor’s care for two months, then we will return to Obregon, Sonora to continue working among the Pima and Mayo Tribes. The mission in Kipor continues under the leadership of Pima Pastor, Ramon Bustillos. Pray especially that God will supply the materials to begin building the church building in Obregon. We have purchased land and want to start building upon our return.

The mission is celebrating their 6th year working among the Tarahumara Indians. At first, they were not very well received in the community, but God has opened doors and hearts to receive the Gospel in this area where no one has been able to enter and STAY. Many have listened to the Gospel and more than 70 have been saved. Twelve have followed the Lord in Baptism. Pray for Brother Mario and family, Angelica, Brisa, Esias, Manuel and Abil. Their other daughter Ana continues as a student in the Bible Institute in Bocoyna.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for our Missions Conferences in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its Missions being held September 21st through the 24th.
  • Pray for the spiritual growth of our church members and for the salvation of souls.
  • Pray for our Bible Institute which begins its school year in September. Pray for the students and teachers.

We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
