June 2022

Published by The Kahlers on

Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. We are grateful for the Lord’s blessings during the month of June.

Father’s Day

We held our Father’s Day service on Sunday, June 19th. Fifteen fathers were present for this special service. Pastor Jose Martinez brought a message from God’s Word about the family and the home. Afterward, there was time for refreshments and fellowship. Pray for the men of the church that they will be faithful to the services and will grow in the Lord.

Youth Camp

Preparations are being made for our annual Youth Camp. We are expecting good attendance of young people from the Church, our missions, and from other churches throughout Mexico. Pray that God will touch the hearts of young people, that they will surrender their lives to serve Him, and that souls will be saved. The theme this year is, “Acuérdate De Tu Creador”. (“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…”. Ecclesiastes 12:1).

New Mission in Nahueachi

Pray for Brother Arturo Gonzalez and the new mission in Nahueachi. He has been visiting the people in the area and having services. Some people from there have donated land to build a building. Pray with us that God will supply the needed funds to build a church there. Arturo will be coming to Youth Camp this month and we should know the cost of the building then.

Japan Missionary Update

We received a report from our missionaries to Japan. God is blessing them greatly. They have been in Japan for three months now, and they have dedicated themselves entirely to learning the language and adjusting to the customs. God has led them to an Independent Baptist Church, and they have been attending on the weekends. The missionary family there has been a great blessing to them, helping them to adjust, teaching them the customs, and how to present the Gospel to the Japanese people. Their special prayer request this month is that God will help them find another place to live as they were given notice to move. The cost will be more, so pray that God would supply the funds for this need.

Prayer Requests

We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name. The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Continue praying for Missionary Bonifacio and his cancer treatments.
  • Pray for the enrollment in our Christian School in September. We are preparing to have high school and middle school this year.
  • Pray for the Bible Institute enrollment, that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into his harvest.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico

“….The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,
that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
