February 2022

Published by The Kahlers on

Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. Thank you once again for your faithfulness in prayer and giving. We are thankful for God’s blessings upon us in the month of February despite the snow and cold weather we have experienced lately.

Pastor Jose Martinez preached special messages during our annual Sunday School campaign, February, month of love”. The theme for each Sunday included Love God, Love Family, and Love Your Neighbor. We celebrated the 34th anniversary of the Grand Vision Baptist Church on the last Sunday of the month. Pastor Bill Wall, pastor of the Obregon Baptist Church in Rubio, Chihuahua, was our special speaker. We had about 150 people in attendance. Six souls were saved and three made decisions to be baptized during the month of February.

La Junta Mission Update

Brother Luis Carlos Saenz reports an average attendance of 65. They also had special services each of the four Sundays in February. They plan to organize the mission into a church on April 3rd. Pray for this special service. Also, pray that God will supply the funds to build a classroom for the children’s classes.

Panalachi Baptist Church Update

The members visited several communities during the last two months inviting people to come to the services. They are thankful that people who have not attended since the start of the pandemic began attending again. One family visited the church for the first time. Pray for Missionary Mario Zavala and his family as they faithfully serve the Lord in Panalachi and the surrounding areas.

Mission Trip to Nahuerachi

Nahuerachi is a six-hour drive from Bocoyna through the mountains. Pastor Jose Martinez, Tomas, a 3rd year student in our Bible Institute, and Brother Arturo Gonzalez visited the Tarahumara community of Nahuerachi around the first of the month. We are thankful that the doors have been opened to begin a new mission in that region. God has provided a temporary place to begin services. Arturo will be graduating from the Bible Institute the last of May, and he will be going to Nahuerachi in June to lead his first service. He is excited about winning his people to the Lord. Pray for their salvation and that a New Testament Baptist Church will be established among the Tarahumara Tribe.

Health Update – Missionary Bonifacio Gonzalez

Please continue to pray for Missionary Bonifacio’s health. He hasn’t been able to begin the chemotherapy treatments. He needs to have more tests made and the Social Security Insurance that he has hasn’t approved them yet. Pray that they will approve them soon so he can begin the treatments.

Prayer Requests

We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name. The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for Missionaries Carlos and Belem Madrigal that their visa paperwork will be approved soon so they can enter the country of Japan.
  • Pray for the salvation of souls and for discipleship classes in the GVBC and its missions.
  • Pray for the new students entering our Bible Institute and our Christian schools. That God may guide them during their education.
  • Pray for Pastor Martinez and the 11 full-time workers. That God may protect them and guide them.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
