Greetings from Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. Thank you for your prayers and for supporting to the work in Mexico with your financial contributions. God continues to bless the work in the mountains of Northwest Mexico. Pastor Martinez and the workers report the following for the month of August.
There were five first-time visitors and five people were saved during the month of August. Pray for the spiritual growth of the new converts.
Pray for the Missions Conference to be held this month. The theme this year is “Heme Aqui, Enviame a Mi” (Here am I: send me), based on Isaiah 6:8. Pray that people will make decisions to serve the Lord. As of today, the Grand Vision Baptist Church supports sixteen missionary families.
Christian School Update
We are thankful that we were able to open the dormitories to receive high school students in our Christian school. Five girls and three boys are enrolled. Other students may enter at a later date. In addition, we have three students studying in our Bible Institute. We are praying that the Lord will send forth laborers into His harvest.
Natahuachi Baptist Mission
The mission continues to go forward. The members and friends are faithful in witnessing for Christ. Last Sunday sixteen people came from the bus route from communities around Natahuachi. Please keep them in your prayers.
La Junta Mission
The mission held a Vacation Bible School in the small village of Rejogochi, Chihuahua. They had good attendance. Seventeen children and three adults were saved. Pray for these new converts and for the discipleship classes.
The mission will be celebrating their tenth anniversary this month. They will be organizing the mission into a church. Missionary Mario Zavala has been preparing a member of the Tarahumara Tribe to be the pastor of the new church. The average attendance is 40. Pastor Jose Martinez, pastor of the Grand Vision Baptist Church, Bocoyna, Chihuahua, will be the special speaker.
We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name. The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- We are thankful for the opening of our Christian School. The enrollment was impacted by the pandemic. We are thankful for the eight students that came and hope that others will enter later. Pray for them.
- Pray for the salvation of souls in the GVBC, the new converts, the missions converence and its missions.
- Pray for the anniversary service and for the organization of the mission into a church in Panalachi.
- Pray for Carlos & Belem Madrugal, missionaries from the GVBC going to Japan. They are finishing their deputation and waiting for permission to enter the country. Also, pray for Belem’s health.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
