March 2021

Published by The Kahlers on

Greetings from Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico! Pastor Jose Martinez and the workers give us this March report of the activities in the church and our missions.

Salvation & Baptisms

We observed the Lord’s supper and held a baptismal service on March 28th. It was a Sunday filled with many blessings! Six people were saved during the month of March. In addition, seven people were baptized from the mission in La Junta, three from Panalachi, one from Natahuachi and one from the Grand Vision Baptist Church. We are thankful that the members are attending faithfully, teaching in Sunday School, and participating in other activities of the church.

Mission Trip to Ocorochi

Missionary Mario Zavala and his family, Pastor Jose Martinez and students from the Bible Institute visited the Tarahumara community of Ocorochi. The town is located about a two-hour drive from the Panalachi Mission over very dangerous and rugged roads. Brother Adriel Martinez preached a message and Brother Arturo, one of our Bible School students, translated the message into their dialect. Two were saved.

Harvest Mission – Casas Grandes, Chihuahua

Brother Jose Enrique Valenzuela is in charge of this mission. God is blessing them abundantly. At the end of March, Pastor and Missionary Mario Zavala preached a mission’s conference in the mission. They had 60 people in attendance. The people are enthusiastic about giving to missions. They promised to support the Panalachi Mission and the Bible Institute in Bocoyna. Pray for Brother Luis Enrique and his wife, Brenda..

La Junta Mission Update

Brother Luis Carlos Saenz is in charge of this mission. The mission held its 7th anniversary on April 4th. Pastor Jose Martinez was the special speaker. There were 70 people in attendance, and four people were saved. The members also promised to start supporting the Bible Institute in Bocoyna.

Prayer Requests

We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its missions.
  • Pray that the Lord will lead in the opening of our Christian schools.
  • Pray for the spiritual growth of those that have been saved.
  • Please continue to pray for my health.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
