Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. Once again, we praise Him for all of His blessings bestowed upon the church and its missions during the month of January.
I am still in the states receiving treatments for my illness. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. Pastor Jose Martinez and our workers report the following blessings.
During January many families in our church contracted COVID, none were hospitalized, and almost all of them have recovered. The services have continued with the proper restrictions. Approximately 50 people are attending on Sunday mornings.
La Junta Mission Update
Brother Luis Carlos and his family report an attendance of approximately 50 children and adults. Brother Luis Carlos travels to the mission every weekend. Three people were saved in January. Please continue to keep this mission in your prayers.
God continues to bless Missionary Mario Zavala and his family. The church members are witnessing faithfully. In January a new family began attending services faithfully. Pray for their salvation. Missionary Mario has been training Brother Corpus, a church member from the Tarahumara tribe, to preach the Gospel. He has now surrendered his life to serve the Lord. He speaks the dialect and is now preaching during the services. Pray for him. Four young people are awaiting baptism.
The mission has several urgent prayer requests. First, that God will supply approximately $500 dollars for the cost to repair their “visitation truck”. They use it to visit people in the mountain communities nearby. It has been some time since they have been able to go to Ocorochi where a group of people meet for Bible Study. Second, that God will supply the funds to buy materials to fence the property.
We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these challenging and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for the four Bible School Students, especially for Daniella. Her parents are not saved and they are not in favor of her continuing her preparation to serve the Lord.
- Pray for our full-time workers, Pastor Martianez and wife Josefa, four other families, three single ladies and one young man. That God may provide the funds for their daily needs.
- For the salvation of souls and for their baptism.
- Pray for Jackie, the wife of Adriel Martinez. She will be giving birth to their third child this month. That God will supply the funds for the extra expenses, and that all will go well.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
