September 2020

Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. We are thrilled with God’s blessings upon our Church, missions and Bible Institute. We are also grateful for your continued support.

Church Update

Praise the Lord for God’s Word that is faithfully being preached and taught in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and missions. More people are attending our services on Sunday. We emphasized our missions during the month of September. The Faith Promise Missions offering was received the last Sunday. People from our missions in La Junta, Natahuachi and Panalachi attended these services. Our special speaker this year was Brother Mario Zavala, missionary to the Tarahumaras. Ten people received Christ as their Savior in September. Among those saved was a government official from the town of Sisoguichi, his wife and their daughter. They have been attending the services on a regular basis.

Natahuachi Mission Update

Brother Adriel Martinez is in charge of the mission and God is blessing them abundantly. They had two visiting missionary families during the month of August – Carlos and Belem Madrigal on deputation going to Japan, and Missionary Mario Zavala and family, missionaries in Panalachi. Pray for the community of Natahuachi as it has been affected by the Coronavirus, and they were unable to hold services for a few weeks as a result.

Two people were saved in September. Pray for Patricia and Pilar and their spiritual growth. Also pray for Brother Adriel’s wife, Jackie, as they are expecting another addition to the family. The local public hospital where they live has limited availability due to the impact of the Coronavirus. The authorities have recommended that she find a private hospital, which will be more costly. Pray that God will supply the funds for this need.

Panalachi Mission Update

Missionary Mario Zavala reports God’s blessings for September. The mission held its 9th-anniversary service last Sunday. Pastor Oscar Maya was the special speaker. Members of the Grand Vision Baptist Church and people from our other missions attended the special service. This was also the conclusion of their very successful Sunday School campaign, “Mejor es mi fruto que el oro…” (My fruit is better than gold) Proverbs 8:19. There were many first-time visitors.

La Junta Mission Update

God is blessing Brother Luis Carlos and his wife Candi with good attendance and souls are being saved. Several children were saved in the month of September.

Prayer Requests

We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these unusual and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name.

Thank You for your prayers for my health. I have had Cataract Surgery and am thankful that it was a success.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and our missions.
  • Pray for the discipleship of those who have been saved.
  • Pray for our protection from organized crime and from the Coronavirus in the towns where we are working, Bocoyna, San Juanito and Creel.
  • Pray for Bible School students. That the Lord may guide them in their studies.
  • Continue to pray for my health.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
