Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church, its missions, our pastor, and the workers. We are grateful for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support for the ministry in Bocoyna, Chihuahua. We especially like to THANK YOU for your special offerings in July.
I am still in the States, as I have been unable to return to Bocoyna since I came on the first of March because of the pandemic. Pastor Jose Martinez reports that, in spite of all the social, economic, and spiritual challenges, God is good. His Word is being preached and souls are being saved.
Christian School Update
There is still uncertainty about the opening of our Christian School and Bible Institute. The plan is to move forward and begin classes for the upcoming school year. We are unsure of how many students will enroll. All classes will be held remotely, and the students will be learning from home via televised courses. Pastor Martinez is in the process of obtaining permission to open the dormitories by meeting all of the mandated requirements. Please pray that God’s will be done in all this. Hebrews 10:23. ”Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”.
Natahuachi Mission Update
Brother Adriel Martinez and family report that, by God’s grace, they are going forward and God is blessing the mission in Natahuachi. Their prayers have been answered. They now have furniture for the parsonage and for the Sunday School classrooms. They are also grateful that they now have a water tank and WATER. A lady and a young man were saved. The lady will be teaching the children in Sunday School. Pray for Adriel and his family as they travel there weekly to hold services. The treacherous drive takes about an hour.
Panalachi Mission Update
Missionary Mario Zavala and his family write of God’s blessings. The members are faithful, and they are eager to hear God’s Word. Isaias, his son, is working with the youth group. He is giving them guitar lessons so the youth can participate in the services. Aldo, a faithful young man, is growing spiritually. Isaias has taught him to lead the singing. The virus is spreading among the Tarahumara Tribe. Pray for their safety.
We are thankful for God’s protection and His blessings upon us during these unusual and uncertain times. There are still many people to be reached with the Gospel, so we persevere in His name.
Thank You for your prayers for my health. I have had Cataract Surgery and am thankful that it was a success.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for the salvation of souls in the GVBC and its missions.
- Pray that God will supply the materials needed for the fence in the Panalachi Mission.
- Pray for the church members and friends of the church and its missions, that they will remain faithful.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
