Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua. It is our prayer that the Lord is blessing each and every one of you as He has us.
We have had a COLD January that somewhat affected our attendance, but God did not withhold His blessings. Nine people accepted Christ as their Savior in the GVBC, three made decisions for baptism, and many others made commitments to be more faithful to the church services. While Pastor Martinez and his wife Josefa were visiting people in Bocoyna two weeks ago, they visited a man in his 40s with an incurable disease. He was saved during the visit and so was his father. A week later the man went home to be with the Lord. Pray for the father and his family, that they will come to church.
Panalachi Mission Update
God continues to bless the Panalachi Mission. Several people were saved, many made the decision to be baptized, and new families attended the services in January. The members are very happy to have their new church auditorium. It seats about 120 people. Daniela, a young lady and a member of the church, surrendered her life to serve the Lord full time, and she has entered the Bible Institute. Pray for her as some of her family members are not in agreement with her decision. Also, Missionary Mario requests prayer that the Lord will supply a vehicle for the bus route. They pick up people from the “ranchitos” and communities around Panalachi each Sunday. At present they have to make a lot of trips in their small car to bring people to the services.
Natahuachi Mission Update
God is blessing the mission in Natahuachi. The people are faithful in attendance and they are inviting new people to attend the services. Two new families came in January. Pray for the protection of the workers traveling there to attend to the mission. Travel to and from the mission can be dangerous.
Kipor Mission Update
Pray for Missionary Bonifacio and his family in Villa Juarez, Sonora. Brother Bonifacio continues to have problems with his right foot as it is still not healed properly. Pray that God will supply the funds to pay for the required expensive monthly treatments.
La Junta Mission Update
God continues to bless the work at the Ebenezer Baptist Mission in La Junta. They had an average attendance of sixty people during Sunday services throughout January. Two ladies were saved.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for the six students currently enrolled in our Bible Institute. Pray that they will remain faithful throughout their three years of preparation.
- Pray for our summer youth camp being held July 20th through the 24th. The theme this year is “VISION 20/20” and it’s based on Hebrews 12:2. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” (Jesus Christ, our perfect vision). Pray that many young people will surrender their lives to serve Him.
- Pray for our Sunday School Campaign, “February, month of Love, Love the Bible, God and the Church.” We will celebrate our 32nd anniversary of the Grand Vision Baptist Church. We are expecting good attendance with a lot of visitors.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
