Greetings from northwest Mexico! We are once again thankful for another month of God’s blessings upon the work here in Bocoyna, Chihuahua.

First of all, I would like to begin with giving thanks to the Lord for my 87th birthday. It is a great privilege to have served the Lord here in Mexico for the past 58 years. I am thankful for my good health, which permits me to continue to live and serve the Lord here. Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial help over these many years.

Church Update

Seven people were saved this month in the Grand Vision Baptist Church, four are students from our Christian School and three are adults from the local community. Eight people are now awaiting baptism.

Water Tanks

The new water tanks are being installed on our campus. Two new tires we purchased for the busses are now in service. Many thanks for those that provided special offerings for these special needs. We could have not done it without you!

Special Prayer Request

Please continue praying for our protection. Many of you may have heard about the attack on a missionary family near the border with the United States. We are located approximately 300 miles from the area where the incident took place. Our newest mission is in the area. Brother Jose Enrique Valenzuela, a fourth-year Bible Institute student, travels to Casas Grandes every weekend to attend to this mission. Pray for his safety. We are thankful that God has supplied the funds to purchase a vehicle for him. He is grateful to now be traveling by car, a six-hour drive versus the eleven-hour trip by bus.

La Junta Mission

God continues to bless Brother Luis Carlos and his family. They are currently traveling to La Junta every weekend to attend to the services there. The attendance last weekend was seventy. Thirty-eight of those in attendance were children. Eleven people are awaiting baptism.

Sonora Mission

Missionaries Bonifacio and Adriana Gonzales continue to do well with this mission. Brother Bonifacio has not fully recovered from the injuries he suffered over two years ago. He continues to have problems with his right foot, and the foot is not healing properly. He needs financial help so he can go see a specialist. Pray with us that God will provide the funds for him to get the medical assistance he needs.

GVBC Missionaries

Our main church, the Grand Vision Baptist Church, now supports a total of ten missionaries. Eight of them are here in Mexico, and two are in foreign lands. Missionaries Eduardo and Karen Herrera and their three children are serving the Lord in Argentina. They are working among the Jewish communities there. Missionaries Carlos and Belen Madrigal are currently on deputation and will be heading to Japan when they raise the necessary support. Please pray for these missionaries, that God will guide them and provide for their needs.

Prayer Requests

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray that God will supply the funds and food for our annual Christmas celebration for the students of our children’s home.
  • Pray for our church Christmas program being held on December 15th. Pray that the parents of the children will come and hear the Gospel.
  • Pray for God’s protection in Bocoyna, Creel and San Juanito.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
