Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua. The month of May was very busy with many activities in the church and in our missions.
We honored our mothers with a special service on May 12th. Sixty-two mothers were present. Each mother received a small gift, and refreshments were served after the service. The choir and guitar ensemble presented special music, and Pastor Jose Martinez brought a message on “The Family”. Four of the most faithful Sunday School teachers were recognized during the service.
We are rejoicing over an answered prayer. Six young ladies surrendered their lives to serve the Lord full-time. They range in age from 13 – 16, and all six of them are enrolled in our Christian School. Please pray for them, that they will be faithful to the Lord and enter Bible School after their high school graduation. Their names are: Norma Isabel, Ashley, Andrea (from the Tarahumara Tribe), Cendell, Nebechima (from the Huichol Tribe), and Jazmin.
On May 25th we were blessed with a special speaker. Pastor Noe Mendoza from the Iglesia Bautista Betania in Mission, Texas spoke in two special sessions on “The Christian Home”. We had approximately 300 people in attendance. Our three missions brought people and other churches in the area participated by bringing their members and visitors from their churches. It was a great blessing to all. One lady from Bocoyna was saved. Pray for Cristina and for her discipleship.
The people of the mission are faithfully attending services. The second phase of the construction has begun. Some of the people are helping Missionary Mario with the construction of the church building. Last week Brother Mario and his son Isaias visited the community of Okorochi. The people there are always excited to see them and to hear the preaching of God’s Word. Pray for this small community and for the salvation of the people.
God continues to bless this mission. Two souls were saved in May. The people are faithful in attendance. The people are working on the construction of the classrooms and some rooms for the parsonage. Pray especially for Mrs. Carmen who has not yet been saved.
La Junta Mission
Brother Carlos, his wife Candi and their family are faithfully attending this mission on the weekends. New children have attended almost every week. Pray for the Vacation Bible School they will be having at the end of June.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for the children enrolling in our Christian Schools and Bible Institute in September.
- Pray for our missionaries Carlos and Belem Madrigal who are on deputation and are planning to serve the Lord in Japan. God is blessing them, and He is opening doors.
- Pray for the discipleship of those that have been saved in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its missions.
- Crime continues to rise in the area. Pray for the protection of the people in Bocoyna, Creel, and San Juanito.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
