Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church, Bible Institute, Christian School and missions, all located in the mountains of northwest Mexico. April was a month full of God’s blessings. We rejoice in His name.
Thirty children attended the special Children’s Day class at the GVBC. They heard a lesson from God’s Word, had a piñata party, received bags of candy and each got a small gift. The children were very excited about the event. Similar services took place in our missions.
We were blessed at the beginning of April with the visit of Brother Ramon Vicente Lara, from Pochotitán, Nayarit. He preached during one of our Sunday morning services. He, his wife Eufracia and their family are working with the Huichol Indians. Souls are being saved there. They have started a mission in the mountains of Jalisco from their church, Jesus Es El Camino Baptist Church. Ramon and Eufracia are graduates of our Bible Institute. Their son, Aaron, is following in his parents’ footsteps and is enrolled in our Bible Institute.
Missionary Mario Zavala is rejoicing over a visit that he and people from the mission made last month to the community of Okorochi. Brother Mario and Angelica used to visit the community, about an hour walk, on a regular basis. It had been about six months since Brother Mario had visited them. The people were excited to see him but were sad when they heard about the accident that took his wife’s and daughter’s lives. They loved Angelica!
They used to hold services outdoors, but on this visit, Margarita, a lady with a local cafeteria, offered to let them use her facility to hold the service. She attended the service, heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as her Savior. Others were also saved. The people are enthused about hearing God’s Word. Pray for this small Tarahumara village and for Missionary Mario and his workers as they continue visiting them.
God blessed the mission in Natahuachi during the special services held April 24th through the 26th. They held visitation in nearby communities during the day and services at night. Five people were saved. Pray for Cindy, a young lady that surrendered her life to serve the Lord during the services. She will be entering our Bible Institute in September. Pray that God will guide her and help her with her studies.
La Junta Mission
Brother Luis Carlos reports that God blessed their fifth anniversary service in April with good attendance. The people are responding to the Gospel. Several people are awaiting baptism.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Continue to pray for the construction of the church building in Panalachi and also for the construction of Sunday school classrooms in Natahuachi.
- Pray for the salvation of souls in the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its missions.
- Pray for Carlos and Belem Madrigal, missionaries on deputation going to Japan, that the Lord may guide them and touch the hearts of people to provide financial support.
We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
