February 2019

Greetings once again from Bocoyna, Chihuahua, located in the mountains of Northwest Mexico. The Lord continues to bless the Grand Vision Baptist Church, its missions, our Christian Schools and our Bible Institute. We celebrated our 31st anniversary last month and we are delighted with the blessings we have received throughout all these years.

CHURCH UPDATE

We held our annual “February, Month of Love” campaign again this year. Each Sunday focused on a special theme; Love the Bible, Love Thy God, Love your Neighbor and Love your Family. Each Sunday had a special message, special music and Bible verse memorization. Thirty-five people visited for the first time. Mrs. Martha Gonzales brought thirteen visitors, and was presented with a Bible for her efforts.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY

Our 31st anniversary service was held on Sunday, February 24th. Pastor Robert Navarro from the Calvary Baptist Church, in Chihuahua City was our special speaker. He preached on the subject, “Con Amor Eterno Te He Amado.” (“With Eternal Love God Has Loved You”). Five people were saved, and others made decisions for baptism. One young lady, Jasmin, surrendered her life to serve the Lord and will enter our Bible School in September. We had about 250 people in attendance. Each mission sent a representative.

PANALACHI MISSION

The mission also held their “Month of Love” campaign during the month of February. The people worked and brought several first-time visitors. Three people attended for the first time. God blessed their campaign with good attendance. One person was saved.

A special service to honor Angelica, brother Mario’s wife who perished in the accident last October, was held during the “Love Your Family” service. They recounted the great work she did for God.

They have begun construction on their church building, and the people are very excited. Continue praying for Missionary Mario, his family and this mission.

NATAHUACHI MISSION

We are thankful that God has supplied the funds and materials to finish the construction of the church facility. Different workers are taking turns taking care of the mission. Pray that God will supply a permanent pastor for them. Several are going to be baptized this month.

LA JUNTA MISSION

Three decisions were made for baptism during the month of February. Their average attendance is 35. Pray for the Bible studies that are being held in Jaway, a nearby community. Several people have been saved. Brother Luis Carlos and his wife Candi are attending to this mission.

PRAYER REQUESTS

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray that God will supply the funds to repair the pipes in our complex. It has been 30 years since they were installed, and they are in desperate need of repair.
  • Pray that God will provide a full-time pastor for the mission in Natahuachi.
  • Thank you for praying for my health. Please continue to do so.
  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the GVBC and the missions.

We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
