November 2018

Published by The Kahlers on

Greetings from Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua! During the month of November we saw seven people saved and ten were baptized. Of those that were baptized one was a lady from Bocoyna and nine were students from our Christian Schools.

CHURCH UPDATE

We are praising God for His blessings. God opens doors in many different ways to get the Gospel to the unsaved. Two weeks ago, Mr. Orlando Gonzalez went to be with the Lord. Pastor Jose led him and his wife to the Lord just prior to his passing. Neither of them attended services in our church, but the family called Brother Jose to come to the funeral home to “say a few words.” So he, the choir and others went. Brother Jose brought a short sermon on the plan of salvation. There were about 75 people that heard the Gospel, most of them for the first time. That same week, an 18-month-old boy from Bocoyna was killed in an accident in his home and a grandmother of one of the ladies that attends our church passed away. They also called on Pastor Martinez to assist in both funeral services. Pray for those that heard God’s Word that they will be saved.

EBEN-EZER BAPTIST MISSION

The mission in La Junta, Chihuahua is going forward under the leadership of Brother Luis Carlos Saenz. Five souls were saved in November. He and his wife Candi are busy preparing for the Christmas program that will be presented on the 16th of December.

PANALACHI BAPTIST MISSION

Missionary Mario Zavala and his family are home now in Panalachi. Brother Mario is having physical therapy at a nearby hospital in San Juanito. The burns on his son Isaiah’s feet and legs are healing and Isaiah’s overall health is improving. Pray for him that his memory will be completely healed. His other son, Immanuel, and his daughters Brisa and Anita are doing well and have almost fully recovered from the accident. They are all working in the mission helping their father. Pray for the entire Zavala family.

ROCK OF AGES BAPTIST MISSION

It was a great blessing to attend the third anniversary service in Natahuachi on December 1st. It was an all-day service. The choir from Grand Vision Baptist Church sang and other members and friends of the church were present. The building was filled to capacity. The ladies of the mission prepared a delicious meal of “pozole and menudo.” Missionary Bill Wall from the Obregon Baptist Church in Alvaro Obregon, Chihuahua brought a message and also Brother Ramiro Soto from The Tierra Nueva Baptist Mission in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua spoke in the afternoon. One lady was saved. Pray for a full-time pastor for the mission.

MISSIONS IN KIPOR AND OBREGON

God Continues to bless the missions where Missionary Bonifacio and his wife, Adriana, are working. Souls are being saved. Brother Bonifacio’s feet and legs are healing from the injuries he suffered over two years ago. He is now able to walk some and he can ride his bicycle to get around. He is in need of a new bicycle. Pray with us that God would supply the funds for this need.

PRAYER REQUESTS

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for the students of our Christian Schools as they return home for their Christmas vacation, that they will be a testimony to their family and friends.
  • Pray that the Lord will provide funds for the extra expenses in January.
  • Pray for the salvation of souls in Grand Vision Baptist Church and for the discipleship classes of those that have been saved.

May God grant you a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are deeply grateful to all of you that have stood behind us with your prayers and faithful support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers. .

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
