Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico and its Missions. There were many activities during the last two months. We would like to share with you the many blessings we received during this period. We rejoice in the fact that eight people were saved, and five made decisions for baptism.
We celebrated Children’s Day at the Grand Vision Baptist Church with a special service during the last week in April. We had 90 children in attendance. Many were first-time visitors. They heard a lesson from the Bible, had piñatas, and received bags of candy. They all had a great time. Please pray for these children as we continue visiting the first-time visitors in their homes.
The special service for mothers was held at the Grand Vision Baptist Church on May 6th. God blessed us with 60 mothers present. Several mothers of the students were present as well, for which we are thankful. One young lady accepted Christ as her Savior. There was good attendance of mothers also in the missions.
There are six mothers among the full-time workers here at the school. Pastor Martinez took us all to Cuauhtémoc, a city about two hours from here, for a nice dinner and shopping. We all had a wonderful time!
Teacher’s day (“Día del Maestro”) was held on May 13th at the Grand Vision Baptist Church. We currently have 13 teachers working in the Bible Institute and in our Christian schools. We also have 25 teachers that teach in Sunday School. All the teachers were recognized with refreshments after church. Pray for these faithful workers as they continue serving the Lord.
We are preparing for our annual Youth Camp here at the Grand Vision Baptist Church. Each year young people attend from all over the country. Youth Camp this year will be held from July 16th through the 20th. Pray that young people may surrender their lives to serve the Lord. The theme this year is “Mas que Vencedores” (“More Than Conquerors”) based on Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” Missionary Bill Wall will be our special speaker. Pray that God may touch the hearts of those attending through his message.
Brother Mario in Panalachi is thankful for a special offering he received for the construction of the church building. Also, Brother Eliezer and the members in Natahuachi are thankful that they now have electricity in the church building.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for construction of the church building in Panalachi.
- Pray for construction of the bathroom and the Sunday school classroom in Natahuachi.
- Pray for the salvation of souls and faithfulness of the church members in the GVBC and its missions.
- Pray for our physical protection, especially here in Bocoyna, San Juanito, and in the missions. We have had to suspend some bus routes for the evening services in order to keep everyone safe..
We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
