God continues to bless the work here at the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua, Mexico. He Continues to answer our prayers, and souls are being led to Christ. Our church members continue to be excited about our missions work and they are being faithful to the Lord.
We thank God that 10 people visited us for the first time at the GVBC in the month of October. Nine people received Christ as their Lord and Savior, and nine followed him in baptism. We pray for their spiritual growth.
All of the missions of the GVBC continue to flourish, and God is blessing them abundantly. Pastor Martinez took Brother Bonifacio to the Doctor for a follow-up visit on the 12th of October. Brother Bonifacio’s recovery is on track and he is getting around well with the use of crutches. He and his family have returned to serve the Lord in Kipor and Villa Juarez, Sonora.
During this visit to the doctor, Pastor Jose Martinez witnessed to a lady from the nearby town of Gomes Farias and a gentleman from the city of Parral. Both of them joyfully and willingly accepted Christ as their Savior. Please keep both of them in your prayers, that God may continue to touch their hearts and that they may be faithful to the Lord.
Brother Carlos Madrigal and his wife, Belen, are very excited about their decision to go to Japan. They are currently visiting churches with the purpose of raising support for their missionary work. We pray that God touch the hearts of the churches so that they can raise the necessary support for their calling.
Some of you are aware that I was diagnosed with skin cancer over the summer months. I had an emergency surgery in Mexico in September, and I came out to the United States in October to have further surgery. I am happy to inform you that the doctors report that all the cancer cells have been removed, and that I’m free to resume my life in the mission field. No further treatment is required. I look forward to serving God for years to come.
Despite the fact I have Medicare insurance, there are quite a few incremental travel, doctor and medicine costs as a result of my treatment. Please pray that God will provide the funds necessary to address these costs.
The following is a list of our current prayer requests:
- Pray for Pastor Jose Martinez and his staff, that the Lord continue to guide them.
- Pray for my and Brother Bonifacio’s prompt and full recovery from our surgeries.
- Pray for our security and wellbeing here in the area. Crime continues to grow, and we pray for His protection.
We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.
Sincerely in Him,
Mrs. Joan Kahler
