June 2017

Published by The Kahlers on

Greetings once again from Bocoyna, Chihuahua, the Grand Vision Baptist Church and its missions. We rejoice in the Lord daily and are grateful for His abundant blessings.

FATHER’S DAY

We celebrated Father’s Day on June 18th. Twenty fathers were present for the special service. Pray for the men of the church, some for salvation and others to be more faithful.

BIBLE INSTITUTE

The week of June 5th was Graduation Week for our Bible Institute. There were special speakers Monday through Wednesday. Thursday night, June 8th, Brother Ramon Vicente Lara, Huichol Indian Pastor from Nayarit, was the graduation speaker. Seven young people graduated this year. Some of them will return to study the special missions course for their 4th year. Pray for Brother Ramon and his family, as they were in a terrible automobile accident during their trip home. We are thankful that nobody was seriously injured. Their vehicle, however, was destroyed.

CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

We held our Christian School graduation on June 30th. Ten young people graduated from middle school and 12 from high school. Pray especially for these students that God would will lead them in their future plans. Also pray that they will be a testimony to their unsaved family and friends while home for vacation.

BROTHER BONIFACIO UPDATE

Pastor Martinez and Brother Bonifacio have been visiting doctors and hospitals to inquire about the operation to fix brother Bonifacio’s legs. They found a clinic and an orthopedic surgeon closer to Bocoyna. This will help reduce travel expenses, and it will allow him to be closer to our facilities. His surgery is currently scheduled for the middle of July. A very special “THANK YOU” to all of you that have provided financial and spiritual support. May God richly bless each of you.

NATAHUACHI MISSION

God continues to bless the Rock of Ages Baptist Mission in Natahuachi. This month four people made decisions to be baptized. They continue working on the construction of the church building and are just about ready to install the roof.

PANALACHI MISSION

Pray for spiritual growth of those that have recently been saved in the Panalachi Baptist Mission, especially for Mrs. Ines. Pray for the salvation of her husband and their two sons.

OTHER MISSIONS

God blessed us with 8 souls saved during the Bible Study in the village of Jahuey this month. Pray for them as Brother Eber and wife Vicky teach the discipleship lessons. Also pray for Ebenezer Baptist Mission in La Junta that souls will be saved.

PRAYER REQUESTS

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the Grand Vision Baptist Church.
  • Youth Camp is scheduled for July 17th-20th. Pray that young people will surrender their lives to serve the Lord.
  • Pray for Brother Bonifacio’s surgeries. That God will guide the doctors and for his speedy recovery.
  • Pray for new students that will be entering in the Bible Institute and Christian Schools in September.

We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
