Greetings from the Grand Vision Baptist Church in Bocoyna, Chihuahua. Five people accepted Christ and others came rededicating their lives to Christ during the month of April.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

We held our Vacation Bible School the week of April 17th. The elementary school in Bocoyna loaned us their classrooms. A total of 50 children attended and eight of them accepted Christ as their Savior. We plan on following up with them and their families. Pray for the children and for the salvation of their parents.

PANALACHI YOUTH MEETING

Missionary Mario Zavala organized a two-day youth meeting on April 21st and 22nd. Pastor Samuel Batres, Pastor of Luz Del Evangelio Baptist Church in San Pedro, Coahuila, brought twenty of his Bible Institute students to see the work that Brother Zavala is doing among the Tarahumara Tribe here in the mountains. In addition, 19 young people came from the Mission in Natahuachi. Various pastors and missionaries brought challenging messages, there was special music, testimonies and visitation in the town of Panalachi. We had a total of 60 young people in attendance. Three adults and three young people were saved.

CHILDREN’S DAY PROGRAMS

We celebrated Children’s Day on April 30th. We had 90 children in attendance. A lesson was given by Bible Institute students using puppets. We had special music and handed out bags of candy. There were 30 first-time visitors. The mission in Natahuachi had their program on the 27th with 60 present and the Eben-Ezer Baptist Mission in La Junta had their program on the 30th with 35 in attendance. Two people made decisions for Baptism.

ANSWERED PRAYERS

God blessed us by providing additional funding for the construction of the church building for the mission in Natahuachi. The walls are up! This month they will add the roof and in June pour the floor. The newborn son of Brother Adriel and Jackie Martinez (teachers and full time workers) was born with a heart condition. They are taking him to Chihuahua for treatment, and we are grateful to God that he is better. Keep Santiago in your prayers.

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST

Our Missionary, Brother Bonifacio Gonzalez and family, working in Obregon, Sonora with the Mayo Tribe and different ethnic groups need our prayers. As we mentioned in previous letters, Brother Bonifacio is having serious problems with his recuperation from a fall he had two years ago. He is still in a wheelchair and needs surgery on one of his legs that is not healing. Pastor Martinez and church have decided for him to come here to Bocoyna for medical attention. Pray for him and that God will provide for the expenses..

PRAYER REQUESTS

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Pray for youth camp July 17 – 20 that young people will surrender their lives to serve the Lord.
  • Pray for faithfulness of the members of Grand Vision Baptist Church.
  • Pray for the salvation of souls in the church and missions.
  • Pray for Missionary Bonifacio’s health and for God to provide the funding for his operations.

We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
