January 2017

Published by The Kahlers on

January began with God’s blessings upon the Grand Vision Baptist Church. Six were saved and seven made decisions for baptism. There were several first-time visitors in attendance. We will be celebrating our 29th anniversary in February.

Three pastors came to teach in the Bible Institute during the week of January 16th – Brother Francisco Muñoz from Cd. Coahuila, Brother Oscar Maya from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua., and Missionary Mario Zavala from Panalachi. They are all graduates from the Bible Institute. Each night we had special chapel services. They were a blessing and encouragement to all of us. Pray for the 14 students that are preparing for the ministry.

Brother Bonifacio and his family visited the mission in Kipor in December. They held a special Christmas program with good attendance. Pray for Pastor Ramon Bustillos and for the salvation of the Pima Tribe. Brother Bonifacio reports that God has provided land to build a church building in Cd. Obregon, the city where they live and work among the Mayo Indian tribe. Continue to pray for them and especially for Brother Bonifacio’s health.

Brother Eliezer and some students of the Bible Institute are faithfully working in the Rock of Ages Baptist Mission in Natahuachi. Attendance for their services is around 30. During Easter vacation, the students and men from the Grand Vision Baptist Church and from the communities around Natahuachi will be working on the construction of the church building. Pray that God will supply the funds for this construction.

A special thanks to those of you that sent special offerings to help with the expenses of the Children’s Home. There are 110 young men and women that are in the dormitories attending middle school and high school.

The following is a list of our current prayer requests:

  • Each Sunday in February is special at the GVBC. Pray that new people will attend and that souls will be saved.
  • Pray for Brother Adriel Martinez and family, that God will direct them to the place in Xalapa to start the mission.
  • Pray for spiritual growth and faithfulness of members of Grand Vision Baptist and missions.

We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support. Please continue to keep God’s work here in Mexico in your prayers.

Sincerely in Him,

Mrs. Joan Kahler
Missionary to Mexico
